Summer Means Heat

high temperature

High temperatures are bad for computers.

Some common-sense tips to help your PC out this summer could extend its life and save you some repair bills.  First is to make sure that your PC is in a cool space.  Next to the water heater or a clothes dryer may not be the best place.  Make sure there is plenty of ventilation so that the PC can breathe.  Tight spaces can restrict air-flow and PCs have fans that pull in cooler air and expel hot air.

Make sure there is nothing blocking the front or back of the PC.  The last tip is to blow out the fans of your PC every 4 to 6 months.  Carpet fiber and dust build up on the fans, restricting the amount of air your PC’s vital components need to function.  As always, give us a call at Frankenstein for more tips or help with any of you IT needs.
