I have a work website that I had neglected to get secured and updated. My wake-up call started with ransom emails demanding bit coin to keep from taking over my website. Of course, I never clicked on anything. But after I ignored the scam, the unrelentless spam started. I rerouted all traffic from my website to my spam folder to disable links and images. But I started to get on edge and overwhelmed with all the junk. I was getting hundreds of emails and it was incredibly time consuming to sift through it all. I didn't even want to log into my site due to fear of some backdoor malware. I am so thankful I reached out to Frankenstein Computers for some help! I had the pleasure of working with Ariel. She was so kind, patient and personable. And she got the job done! The price was pleasantly reasonable. And my peace of mind has been restored. Want to know how many emails I've received from troll farms, as of today? Zero!!! I look forward to working with Ariel again for any and all future needs. This was a good reminder that a website isn't a Ronco Rotisserie. You can't just "set it and forget it."

I have had a very challenging 2023. It has been one of those years where Murphy's Law has been in full effect. My laptop keyboard gave out in me in February. I kept waiting til I had the $$ to fix it. That never happened, so I just decided to bite the bullet and get the repair as I needed it for work. I did a quick google search for laptop repair shops and liked the look of this place. I'm glad I went with them! I dropped off the laptop and was very happy to get a call 3 days later that I could pick it up the next day. Best part- it was just under $200 including tax and fees. I was very happy with the service, communication, and pricing. The real kicker for me was that when I fired it up for the first time in 5 months I went to do the updates it would need, but THEY HAD ALREADY DONE most of the updates for me! I did not expect that and it really stuck out as taking pride in your work and caring for your customers. Great job all around.

When my laptop was hijacked by malware, I called a few companies in search of someone who could help solve my problem. Just by talking with Ariel on the phone, I was convinced that Frankenstein Computers was the right fit for me; she was cordial, knowledgeable and helpful, and I immediately felt reassured. When I went there a little later, my problem was solved quickly and professionally. I highly recommend this business and will never again have to "shop around" for computer repairs! I'm really glad to see they are open 7 days a week!

Just had remote service on my Apple laptop that was EXCELLENT! David was super good, quick, professional, courteous and communicative. He fixed the problem, then double checked his results. A great job at a fair price and service on the same day I called. Hometown owned and a local small business. Couldn't have been better!

I came into Frankenstein computers with a frozen external hard drive that wouldn't spin. I had talked to Discount Electronics (they don't do data recovery) and about 4-5 specialty data recovery shops in Austin, all of whom were quoting $300-$2000, with most projects landing in the $700-$900 range. Frankenstein said to bring it in and they'd take a look on the spot and at least let me know if it was recoverable by them (for the much more reasonable $150) or if I needed to take it to a data recovery specialist. As soon as I walked in Jay grabbed the drive and took it to the back to examine. When he came back out he said the power supply wasn't connecting properly but he had gotten it to spin using an extra power supply they had on hand, and was able to see the files on the drive. Jay also explained that the hard drive was on the brink of collapse, with a pending sector count of 200. He advised me to get a replacement power supply and rip the data off the failing hard drive asap, both of which I did successfully. He said he didn't feel right charging me for something I could likely resolve myself with a new power supply. Jay probably spent 20-30 minutes examining my equipment and giving me advice, and in the end didn't charge me a dime. I was blown away by the customer service and generosity, and will definitely be back. I'm so glad to know there is a local computer repair place in Austin that I can trust. Great customer service, fair prices, and honest staff. Thank you, Frankenstein Computers!

When I came in he took one look at the pc and already knew what was wrong with it and wanted to charge me for it. I was charged $60 for him to plug in my CPU power cord in front of me and it took him 1min to do. It took him longer to do the paper work and get my information than to do the actual work on the computer. I don't think it is reasonable to charge $60 for 1min of work or what would have been better would be to just tell me that I missed plugging in my CPU power cord and I would have gladly plugged it in myself. You shouldn't take advantage of your customers.
