Support ending for Microsoft Office 2007

Still using Microsoft Office 2007?

It might be time to bite the bullet and upgrade – here’s why: On October 10th Microsoft will drop support for Office 2007, meaning that there will be no more patches for security vulnerabilities or fixes for other bugs, nor will there be Microsoft assisted tech support for the product. That being said, the applications within Office 2007 will continue to operate after support ends with some exceptions – most notably Outlook 2007.

“As of October 31, 2017, Outlook 2007 will be unable to connect to Office 365 mailboxes, which means Outlook 2007 clients using Office 365 will not be able to receive and send mail,” Microsoft has said. While having to purchase new software is at best inconvenient, it is both recommended and beneficial in the long run. Microsoft Office 2016 can be purchased on its own or subscribed to via Office 365, and as always, Frankenstein Computers can help with questions, purchasing, and installation.

As always, if you have any questions regarding this topic of upgrading you can always give us a call here at Frankenstein Computers and we will be more than happy to assist.
