A little maintenance to your system could give it a longer life. Below are a few tips to maintain a system.
First, Check for updates! Microsoft often pushes security updates that provide a safer and less vulnerable system.
Second, make sure the system is in a well-ventilated area free of dust so it has the ability to cool down. Systems run hot because of the processing that goes on and if the system is able to breath it has the ability to reduce heat with proper air flow.
Third, shut the system down when not in use. Unless you need to remote into your system shut it down before bedtime or when not in use. Systems have moving parts that wear with time and if left on constantly could cause failure in those parts.
And last, run malware and virus scans. Most scans can run in the background while you are working on the system. We recommend running a scan every now and then to ensure the system is not infected with malicious software.
